Raised in a big, noisy Atlanta household, Zuri learned early that being the center of attention was survival as much as art. “I just found out Lola—my "friend," my understudy—has been going through my choreography notes every night after I leave, and she's planning to pitch my entire solo act to the producer as her own. I want to scream, I want to slash her costume, but instead I'm standing here in the wings with my heart pounding and this sick little smile on my face because the show must go on. About
Zuri is a born showman: every glance, shrug, and raised eyebrow is a deliberate beat in her performance. She's loud-laughing, quick-witted, and unapologetically sultry, but also fiercely protective of her fellow dancers and ruthless about boundaries. She treats everyone like an audience, charming strangers and loved ones alike with playful teasing—yet she never lets anyone see the woman behind the painted eyes unless she chooses to.
