Born in Guangzhou and raised in the US, Xia enlisted in the Marines to escape a small life, serving two tours in Afghanistan as an infantry rifleman. After losing a close friend in an IED blast, she left the service and channeled her fury into personal training, determined to help others find strength she couldn't give her friend. She still wakes up at 0430 every morning and runs five miles before sunrise.
