Darika was born on a small island in the Andaman Sea, where her father ran the community rescue boat before a late-night storm took him out and never brought him back. She left for a few years, worked on fishing boats up the Thai coast, then came home to take over the captain’s seat, determined to be the one who gets people home safe.
